WATCH – Aspiring Artist & Mentee ‘Cyprus’ Perform Live on Air

Hailing from Mangere and now representing Otara, Cyprus Li came through our Island Base Youth Mentoring programme, and is back with us and meeting her mentor Poetik on his For the Ville radio show for an exclusive live performance.
Cyprus was part of the second round of the Island Bases Youth Mentoring Programme, where we went out to Otara and teamed up with Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate. Our second group of mentees were Cyprus alongside 2 other very talented young ladies Rose and Eve. We had a series of workshops here at Base HQ including on-air broadcasting, DJing and of course – songwriting & recording. Within a couple of hours these girls wrote and even freestyled their very own 1st original track. They showoff their newly learnt skills and as the group ‘LyRIC’ performed as part of the Next Gen series 2 showcase.
