VILLETTE ‘Beige’

The following words by Dan Pardalis for Complex

Having opened up for AlunaGeorge, receiving co-signs from Sango and Joe Kay, and getting play on BBC 1, Valve Sounds’ VILLETTE is one artist to keep a close eye on in 2017 – but it all starts right here with her latest single “Beige”. With some pulsing production, and an off-kilter swinging percussion that injects serious groove, VILLETTE floats right over the top of this one.

On “Beige”, the singer admits her fears to her lover in breathy vocals, and the vulnerability is palpable – there’s a deep honesty embedded in the song, allowing her to connect with the listener almost immediately. With VILLETTE recently spending some time in the US working on music, there’s no telling what kind of dope material she’ll bring us next, but it’ll definitely be something to wait with bated breath for. Until then, you can check out “Beige” for yourself up top.
