Saturday 11th May, the Mates & Crates crew are hosting another pop-up and their first co-lab night at the iconic Cassette Nine in Auckland. Join us for a night of heavy dance floor hitters across 2 zones. The main room will be showcasing a broad spectrum of Drum and Bass:

About Mates & Crates:
Founded in 2016 during a Saturday afternoon at Base FM’s ‘Faux show’, Mates & Crates have evolved into a successful and recognizable brand while keeping true to playing good music and providing a great atmosphere. They’ve changed the style of events and are doing pop up gatherings at various places that start earlier and finish earlier to cater to a more diverse crowd. If you didn’t know, all Mates & Crates Dj’s play under random pseudonyms and play whatever music they want. This way they keep egos down and excitement up.
Aside from events and radio, they’ve launched a lineup of merch including hoods, tees, slips mats and head wear. Mates and Crates has developed into a community supported by many artists and friends.
Pierre Allan, co-founder of Mates & Crates is also a key member of the Base FM whānau. He’s been a long time supporter of everything Base and he’s also our studio handyman.
Pierre custom designed and built our DJ desk that we have in the studio, and we also used his design to build a similar one in Samoa at Island Base HQ! We’re lucky to have you Pierre!
