THE BOOM CAT ‘Day In Day Out’
Written by Admin on June 9, 2014
Children of the ‘Neo-Soul’ movement from the late 90’s, The Boom Cat are a three-piece fusion band pulling key elements of their musical chemistry from Hip-hop, Jazz, Reggae and Funk. Comprised of lead singer Keshia Paulse, Karlos Tunks on guitar and bassist Isaac Etimani, The Boom Cat formed 4 years ago and have embarked on a mission to create a name for themselves within the local and international music scenes.
The name itself, ‘The Boom Cat’, comes from the band’s abstract idea of a feline type character and the group’s songs reflect that character’s adventures, emotions, lifestyle and personality in somewhat of a soundtrack to its life.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Stevie Wonder to Jimmy Hendrix and The Roots as well as Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spalding, Frank McCombe and many more, The Boom Cat’s music serves to blend members individual tastes into new and totally original pieces of art.
Recorded between Anonymouz Works Studios and at Eavesdrop Entertainment Studios, The Boom Cat’s debut E.P is fuelled by Keshia’s eclectic writing style brought to life as a truly fresh and diverse artwork lead by the single ‘Like The Summer’ set to be released at the top of 2014.
