For this week’s Local Eyes, Onehunga hip-hop titans SWIDT have returned with a new three-pack EP, 312 DAY, including new tracks ‘KELZ GARAGE’ ft. Lomez Brown, ‘COMBO’, and ‘SURVIVAL’.
Standout reggae-infused Pasifika drink-up anthem ‘KELZ GARAGE’ sets the seasonal tone of the triple drop, opening the grainy, SFX loaded short film-style music video counterpart directed by frequent collaborater Connor Pritchard. Transitioning seamlessly through fragments of each of the three new songs over the four-minute clip, from the tropical atmospheres of ‘KELZ GARAGE’, to assertive trap joint ‘SURVIVOR’, and slick flows flexed on bass-heavy ‘COMBO’, 312 DAY marks a strong return to form for the Onehunga giants.Taking to Instagram, SWIDT shared: “This 312 day celebration at the trident was one for the books. Good music, good vibes & good people. Due to the current restrictions tho, don’t think we’ll be able to do one this year. But we got a little something for ya nonetheless. Stay ready.”
