SUPERVILLAINS RMC ‘Durham Lane’
Written by Admin on April 5, 2013
From the gloomy depths of the Auckland Super City lives “The SuperVillains RMC” a hip-hop collective bringing you a 90’s style of upbeat boom-bap, bibidy Rap and Swayze swaged out bangers. Their latest release, and the first since the debut EP, is named after the not-so-gloomy-and-rather-gentrified inner city location “Durham Lane”. Produced by Yudz Moodley the SuperVillains have definitely stepped up their game!
“Our whole concept of being SuperVillains is conveyed live by our outrageous costumes of SuperVillains characters. Super Heroes such as Batman can be seen running about in madness and beaten up on stage over samples from the old school Batman series.
We produce electrifying performances and captivate audience with our part rap – part theatre gigs. We have been together as the ‘SuperVillains RMC’ for seven months, playing various venues in Auckland. We have shared the stage with various acts including Dam Native, King Kapisi, and The Late Night Tigers. We have also played the opening slot of GZA from Wu Tang Clan, Rakaa from Dilated Peoples.” – SuperVillains RMC
