Born and raised in West Auckland, Louise Wright has always had an infatuation with music. From keyboard and singing lessons in school to drum and bass gigs all over the world, her love for music began to grow as she travelled to the other side of the world.
It was in London, where she found herself musically, met some amazing DJ’s and producers, collaborated with friends and fully immersed herself in the drum and bass scene. Whilst overseas she realised that radio was the place where she could share all the music and artist’s she had learned about and seen live.
Upon returning to NZ from two years in London, she decided to enrol in an intensive radio course at Australian Film Television and Radio School in Sydney. There she learnt the foundations of radio but it wasn’t until she began working at Base FM as an Intern that she finally began to learn the practical side to it all. With the help of amazing mentors and DJ’s around Base FM she has learn a lot from her time here.
Having worked with Drum and Bass DJ’s in London as a vocalist and teaming up with her friend to go back to back on a Numark controller, she is back on the Base airwaves. Following the most underground DJ’s and producers to select for you the best Drum and Bass around the scene in the UK right now. Pure vibes and chill tunes to ease through your Sunday.
Tune into ‘More with L’amour’ every second Sunday afternoon from 2pm-4pm.
