Shottaz are a duo comprising of MCs Max Shotta and Hlats, both of whom originally hail from Harare, Zimbabwe. Formed as Yung Shottaz back in Auckland in 2007, the Dancehall / Hip Hop / Afrobeat crew are currently in Melbourne, Australia.
They released their first official project “The Premiere” EP via New Zealand’s powerhouse label High Stakes Records in 2009. After a 4 year hiatus since releasing “Stimulus” in 2013 and a name change, the Shottaz relocated to Melbourne and have been working on new material including the “Focus” mixtape.
‘We Can Do It’ is the Shottaz first official single for Zodom Area, and is produced by Greece-based producer OGE Beats. The song has the Shottaz delivering battle style lyrics over a dancehall / afrobeat riddim, and is capped off by a catchy, high energy hook which is meant to linger in the listener’s mind long after hearing it performed.
