Join Soulyric every Tuesday 12-2pm for a sweet rolling selection of tasty beats across a range of genres. Expect ‘feel-good’ energy to most of his drops with a strong emphasis on positive vibes throughout the majority of his sets both on the radio and out and about performing live. Special consideration is placed on all song drops with every opportunity taken to perform a seamless mix between tracks, hence the name ‘The Non-Stop Drop’.
Reacting strongly to outside influence (many times the the weather out the Base FM window) sets can vary in musical direction, but be it through reggae, funk, soul, hip hop, mash-ups, d&b or otherwise, all share a common goal to bring the sweet, sweet beats you need to help you through your day.
Now is the time to turn up the stereo, open the windows, grab a drink and settle in for two hours of audible chocolate.
Soulyric:
Although a new-comer to the Base FM airwaves, Soulyric aka Willie C is no stranger to the NZ music scene having been performing professionally since the late 90’s predominantly in Auckland but also all over NZ and Whistler BC, Canada as a DJ, Multi Instrumentalist Singer/Songwriter, Event Co-ordinater, MC and Radio Host.
Song selection is his speciality with a flare for quick drops, scratching, freestyling and singing over beats that get you moving from Hip-hop, Soul, Funk, Reggae, Mid-Tempo Bangers, Nu-Funk/Disco, Electro to Drum & Bass & more. Tracks leaving room for his live vocals and freestyling are always a favourite pick allowing Soulyric to truly shine as an MC as well as a DJ.
