Kilme2 and IMPORTANT by Adam Tukiri

Adam Tukiri recently retired his previous moniker and released his first official single ‘Important’. Today he releases his second single ‘Kilme2’. The track was produced by Adam and has been created as a loosely-based sequel to his first ‘Kilme’ track that he released in 2016.
“I basically invite all the B.S my way as none of it phases me.”

With all the new changes, Adam has chosen to take a different approach with his releases – no social media linked to the change and no pre-publicity etc. “I’m so removed from numbers now, so I’m not going to entertain them as much anymore.” Adam is still looking to perform and do some publicity but without the pressure of social media or trying to “blow-up”.

Though there are mentions of all this in ‘Kia Ora’, Adam dives into it more with his single ‘IMPORTANT’. ‘Kilme2’ is more of a taster, with a length of only 01:45 and being the second release from Adam, it has people wondering will there be more?

Adam Tukiri is a rapper and producer from South Auckland, who created quite a name for himself under his previous moniker Dharmarat. There is just as much range in his discography as he has projects under his belt, having released 21 projects as Dharmarat, if you include his work with his group Valleyside Boys.

Adam Tukiri is bringing the focus back to the music and letting it speak for itself.

Forklift by Iac

“This song is dedicated to everyone who is out there working hard to keep food on the table for the family and to keep up with the bills. Growing up as a kid, I remember always seeing my parents working hard now I know how it feels to wake up and go to work to pay the bills. The songs inspiration was from Rizvan ‘Bill$’. This is just an expression on how I feel about working night shift and I know everyone can relate to it no matter what you do. Shoutout to my brother @Chequeredpatterns for the mixing and mastering of this track and to my other brother Tevita (@cefirocefiro – ig) for the amazing shots taken. Shout outs to myself and everyone else who is out there grinding. Love to you and never stop grinding.” – Iac

Brockley Greens FT. NAUTI & NAME UL

Yancey’s debut single release is in collaboration with Nauti (Omni-Potent) and Wellington native Name UL which started in Name UL’s flat in South London last July. Having explored solo on their respective overseas travels, Yancey (James Sherning) managed to link up with long time friend’s Nauti (Ti-Maya Dorcil) & Name UL (Emmanuel Psathas) during a chance crossover in London. After being played a few samples that Name had been collecting, they put together what would become the foundation of ‘Brockley Greens’. From there, Yancey started to build the track around Nauti & Name UL’s vocals.

Brockley Greens’ uniquely has a verse for verse structure without a traditional hook that Yancey’s production has emphasised. The melodious beat has Yancey’s signature contemporary hip-hop flow, hard-hitting drums & breaks with crisp percussive elements, all layered underneath lush synthesisers developing alongside both lyricists as the track effortlessly progresses.
