Max Oldfield – Base Breakfast Co-host / NZ On Air Music Content Producer / Videographer
September 16, 2018
Max Oldfield has been involved with Base FM since the tender age of 18, when he first appeared on the stations popular Saturday night show The Chin Check.
Since then, Max has worked around the Auckland media landscape as a music journalist, manager, event promoter and programmer with outlets as 95bFM and Vice.
With over 10 years as a broadcaster and DJ under his belt, he now spends his time studying film at Auckland’s SAE institute and has returned to hold the reigns on the Base FM Breakfast show on Thursday and Friday mornings every week. He is also responsible for the majority of the superb video content currently coming out of Base FM, including the HQ Live sessions.
Max’s involvement in the New Zealand hip hop runs deep, having managed such Base FM favourites as @peace, Louie Knuxx, and ENO x Dirty, so you can expect to hear a wealth of NZ hip hop on his shows, as well as plenty of West Coast synth joints, g-funk, Houston rap, funk, soul, juke, and the occasional bit of house.
