LOUIS BAKER ‘The People’

Written by on April 8, 2019

This week’s Local Eyes video is from Wellington’s very own soulful singer/songwriter Louis Baker.

Louis Baker has written a hearty anthem ‘The People‘ which was released alongside a video directed by a long-time friend, Shae Sterling in a heartfelt shout out to Wellington as a special and diverse city.
Here is a little quote from Louis about the video:

“I wanted this video to be honest and upfront. I wanted it to reflect my norm, where I grew up, the diversity amongst our small but international city, the warmth, the art, the people. My dad makes an appearance, he worked for 43 years as a fireman, my best mates, many of my friends, and people I have never met are in this video. There are nods to musical minds that have paved the way before us.”

Also, Ian Beatmaster Wright spoke to Louis Baker on Base Breakfast about the new release, check out the interview below:

‘The People’ is taken from his forthcoming Album ‘Open’ which will be released in June.
