Introducing EMPWER HOUR

A brand new monthly on-air feature of a local female or non-binary creative, empower hour is a safe space for creatives brought to you by New Zealand on Air Music.
The show will help Empower and inspire our young people allowing the opportunity and platform for creatives in the music industry to give some words of wisdom and be able to share their stories as artists to our young people. Not limited to musicians, empower hour features all other forms of performing arts such as spoken word.
Hosted by TEARDROP aka Mata Isaia Epa (she/her) a young pacific woman and multidisciplinary artist. Starting her musical journey on the drums, Mata has performed alongside some heavy hitting artists such as Soul Purpose, Three houses Down, Sammy J, Tree, RIA, Swiss, Brownhill, Revival Nona and many more.
The introspection that came with the crazy lockdown period Teardrop tapped into her gift as a singer/songwriter in the final months of 2021. Her latest release “FATU MO OE” (Heart for you) features her beautiful fiancé Revival Nona, the track is study of two beautiful souls sharing their love for the music and each other.
What was supposed to be a quick New Years catch up with family over in Australia has lead to being an indefinite staycation for Mata. Empower hour will streamed live and direct from Melbourne, Teardrop is excited to build some positive vibes while sharing some amazing talents and conversations with you all on Base FM.
