FULL METAL RACKET
Written by Admin on March 22, 2013
Friday 8 – 10pm with DANNY2CHAINS, DAVE SEEKER & AZBO
Join Azbo, Dave Seeka and Danny2Chains for all the latest and greatest in Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Grime and Future sounds from around the world.
After 8 years we farewell ZEB BEALL who relocated to the greater Auckland suburb of Melbourne! DANNY 2 CHAINS has brought the new recruits AZBO & DAVE SEEKER for “Full Metal Racket”.
After the sad departure of long stay Base DJ Zeb Beall, Danny2Chains had to fill the hole left by Zeb. So, not just one but two DJs stepped up to the plate. Now known as ‘Full Metal Racket’, DTC, Dave Seeka and Azbo take over where Close Encounters left off. Friday nights will never be the same in the Base studio. Three times the banter and three times the tunes. Still sticking to the not sticking to a genre theme, ‘Full Metal Racket’ promises to warm you up for the weekend with their blend of Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Reggae, Jungle and the list continues as anything goes (well almost anything). Tune in from 8 til 10 every friday night for your weekly dose of racket.
Danny2Chains:
Four years deep at Base. Danny2Chains didn’t have to move far from his usual time slot, in fact all he did was rename the show. 2Chains is still proud to be in the Friday night slot and bring you the eclectic blend of all things Base. Somewhat of a ‘nerd’ when it comes to his music, Danny will be dropping small tidbits of knowledge and can be heard arguing with himself on air whether he likes the song or not. With a massive love for reggae and dancehall, ole’ DTC will also blend it up and make you a delicious smoothie for your ears of all things that tickled his fancy over the previous weeks digging.
Likes: Dave Seeka’s musk.
Dislikes: Azbo’s toenails.
AZBO:
Hailin’ from Croydon, South London, AZBO is no stranger to the ever evolving dance music scene. Whether that be the shuffling sound of UK Garage, the heaviest amen jungle breaks, or the hypest bashment coming out of the dancehalls of Jamaica you can trust AZBO to have his finger on the pulse.
A lover of all genres of music, you can’t pigeon hole his set list, however you know that you’re going to only get the best of the best, cut, chopped and screwed for your audible pleasure
DAVE SEEKA:
Spent years working in record stores to supplement a vinyl habit, DJ’d all over the country in loads of clubs and hosting shows on various stations – but now I feel at home on Base with my good buddies 2Chains and Azbo. Here’s a list of things I like and dislike.
Things I like: not wearing shoes, eating heaps of vegetables, responsibly drinking till irresponsible times, hiphop.
Things I dislike: haircuts
