EXHIBITION: All Fresco 2015 (April 9th – 12th)

“All Fresco is a community based street art festival designed to inject colour into our streetscape and activate our shared spaces. This K Road Business Association initiative is a natural response to the K Road environment and the tradition of creativity and fringe culture that the area is famous for.”
All Fresco is a boutique Public Art Festival based around Karangahape Road in Auckland, New Zealand and is commissioned by the K Rd Business Association.
It is a festival focused on the role contemporary urban art can play within a community, and is a celebration of the creative culture that has long been a part of the history and tradition within K Road. It is also an area that has been home to many of the artists currently leading the field within NZ.
All Fresco recognises the special nature and traditions of K Road and is viewed as a means to protect the legacy of Auckland’s most famous strip by building on the rich history of art, culture and commerce that has preceded it.
After debuting in 2013, this years event will build on what has already been achieved in 2013 and 2014 with new works from a number of this country’s leading artists. Some are already well known to this inner city, uptown precinct and others will be painting on K Road for the very first time.
The value of this event is not just in the opportunity it provides to artists, or the spectacle and experience it offers spectators. It is in re-establishing and re-affirming the qualities of a part of our city that makes it the most well known and most fabled strip in the country.
