Last time we heard from Electric Wire Hustle, the duo of RBMA alumni Mara TK and Taay Ninh were putting out their first full-length record in four years. ‘Love Can Prevail’ proved to be well worth the wait, showcasing a matured, well-defined and certainly warmly inviting sound.
While the New Zealand two-piece enlisted a stellar cast of contributors for their ‘If These Are The Last Days’ Remix EP (Osunlade, Seven Davis Jr., Flako, Eliphino and Computer Jay on the digital bonus), they’ve also provided us with this exclusive goodie to give away. “Golden Ladder” is an earnest, forthright effort. It combines existential, post-modern lyricisms akin to those of Frank Ocean with an effervescent, FlyLo circa’ Los Angeles’ indebted backdrop – an excellent cocktail in our book.
