Christoph El Truento produces a #1 on theaudience

Today we are sending a whole lot of respect and congratulations out to producer/beatmaker Christoph El Truento and to all of you dope music lovers who voted for his track Galaxy on theaudience as he has taken out the top place for March, securing him NZ On Air Wildcard Making Tracks funding.

Many of our DJs really got behind El Truento last month and it was great to see all of you beautiful Base Heads then joining in on social networking sites and giving the @Peaceproducer your votes.

Of the win, El Truento said, “I never thought it would happen, I was even apprehensive right till the very last second. When I signed up I didn’t think much of it until I noticed I was sitting at #4 and then #3 on the chart. I realised it was something I could maybe make work.”

After a tight race with the other top 3 artists, Christoph El Truento finished the March chart month at #1, with Gainsford and Chess Countess close behind. This #1 placing makes El Truento the first beatmaker/producer to take home the NZ On Air Wildcard Making Tracks funding, which will go towards recording the single and producing a video.

Excited by the result, the Young, Gifted & Broke producer went on to say, “I hope it inspires other people in my situation…that more bedroom music producers sign up and apply for funding more often. We need more funding and it’s totally possible, a lot of musicians don’t realise what they’re capable of.”

Christoph El Truento is now the eighth recipient of the NZ On Air Wild Card Making Tracks funding and you can listen to his winning track, Galaxy, right here
