CAVE CIRCLES ‘Mirrors feat. PARKS’

Written by on July 24, 2017

CAVE CIRCLES is the alias of Wellington-based musician Riki Gooch. As one of the founding members of TrinityRoots, Riki Gooch built a solid reputation as a drummer who would explore left-field rhythm patterns, without ever losing focus on the groove. This was explored in more depth with his first solo project Eru Dangerspiel, which resulted in both a studio album and a series of live shows featuring a large ensemble of well-known local musicians.

2017 sees Riki Gooch release 2 vinyl EPs under the name CAVE CIRCLES. The first EP My Heart Is A Beating Drum explores the realm of techno, and was released in February via Wellington label RPR (Rough Peel Records). The latest EP ‘Apricity’ explores more of that wonky-synth-beats ‘Brainfeeder’ sound, with a vinyl release available via Wonderful Noise from Japan.

‘Apricity’ features appearances by Seven Davis Jnr (Kiva), Leila Adu (House Keeping) and Parks (Mirrors).
