BLKCITY ‘POGBA’

This week’s Local Eyes video of the week is BLKCITY ‘Pogba’. This NZ Hip-Hop super group is made up of JessB, Abdul Kay, Mo Muse, Raiza Biza and Blaze The Emperor. ‘Pogba’ is an afro-beat flavoured tune that celebrates the achievements of the Manchester United star and Football World Cup winner with France, Paul Pogba, and is the third track off their forthcoming album, expected to be released mid-2021. Pogba is the follow up to the outstanding ‘Flying’ and ‘Salsa’, and is yet another win for the Auckland based group.
Premiering exclusively on AfroPunk, the colorful, high-energy visuals created by renowned videographer Connor Pritchard, showcases BLKCITY’s versatility as they effortlessly body different styles of hip-hop. The chemistry between the multitalented group members is apparent as they bounce off each other and deliver their seamless verses, creating a highly contagious dance anthem.
“We are excited to continue the introduction of an afro-influenced sound to the wider hip-hop listeners and fans here at home”, says JessB.
