Base FM Youth Mentoring programme – Mangere Central School

Over the past few weeks, we have had three amazing students from Mangere Central School on the Base airwaves with DJ Grassmouth as part of our Youth Mentoring programme.
Matai – 10 years old – Confident with an outgoing personality. Loves to sing and hit those high notes
Karina – 9 years old – Quiet and gentle. Loves singing and performing arts
Betsy – 12 years old – Multi talented in dance, music and sports and is the lead host and interviewer of their school TV show ‘On My Walk’.
They all got to learn about radio, songwriting, performing as well as interviewing skills. At the end of the programme, they had gained more confidence in themselves and managed to take away some neat little skill sets. Check out the highlights of these talented future stars.
