Jah Red Lion came into Base HQ for a chat and a live performance of his first single of the year ‘Wicked Affi Run Weh’ produced by Tiopira McDowell/High Stakes. Dedicated to the next generation and inspired by the social movement happening back in Chile.
Nico ‘Jah Red Lion’ Reyne was born in the small town of Lampa just out of Santiago, Chile. At age 17 he started to frequent local rasta reggae parties where he started to learn about the philosophy, lifestyle and the music. Now based in Auckland city and influenced by Jamaican recording artists, this reggae singer with a clear and sincere conscious message, combines high melodies full of soul with a huge stage presence.
Jah Red Lion will be performing live alongside D.Matthews, Dub Terminator, DJ Banty, Burning Soundz, DJ Graassroots, Solomonix and more at the Afro Delight Festival (Saturday 29 February 2020).
