Ex-Seddon High School, ex-Grey Lynn local now based on Waiheke Island, DJ Junior is a Base FM original. For almost 8 years Junior was the host of BaseDriven, the weekly Thursday Drive Show. We are please to welcome him back for a limited time while Solly (DIP) is off overseas.

Junior has been spinning records since the early 90’s, honing his style with weekly residencies at both Khuja and Galatos Lounge/bars in the early 2000s. His talents eventually extended to the rest of Auckland’s expanding nightlife, with regular gigs at Ponsonby Social Club, Britomart Country Club, Rakinos and The Bay (Waihake). Career highlights include support slots for numerous International guests, as well as local appearances at Grey Lynn Park Festival, Splore, hosting NZ MC Battle for Supremacy for 2 years & establishing ‘Deck’Sterity’, a 4 turntable event with another talented local DJ Trist, and the now defunct monthly Rakinos night “Half The Size, Double The Flavour” with fellow pint sized selector Bobby Brazuka.

Personal tour highs include; Powder Keg (Ohakune), Matterhorn (Wellington), Beach Road (Bondi – Sydney), Lov•e (Sao Paulo – Brasil) & El Divino Lounge (Florianopolis – Brasil), La Belle AngÈl (Edinburgh – Scotland).

Junior’s musical flavour is a dynamic evolving mix of phat tasty beats, funky bass lines & Old Skool Hip Hop, blended with Soul, Funk & Reggae designed to make you move your behind.
