After months of refining and perfecting, Bailey Wiley has released her new EP, S.O.M.M., further showcasing one of NZ’s finest musical talents. With the seeds planted in Berlin, and further grown at home in Auckland, S.O.M.M., aka Still On My Mind is the sound of an artist pushing the boundaries of neo-soul.
With writing and recording split between Auckland and Berlin, S.O.M.M. is the culmination of two years of hard work from Bailey Wiley. In the words of Nina Simone, “an artist’s duty, as far as I’m concerned, is to reflect the times”. This EP is a reflection of Bailey Wiley coming into her own as one of NZ’s most exciting artists.
Opening track ‘Dos Fuegos’ is the perfect scene setter of what is to come – amazing vocals combined with fascinating production. Across eight tracks Bailey Wiley throws down the gauntlet to the rest of the NZ music scene, and delivers the killer release that has been teased over countless live sets.
S.O.M.M. features a dream team of producers, with each bringing something different and unique to the table, and each pushing Bailey’s sound in exciting and different directions.
