“Can’t Let Go”, the debut single from the Tongan, New Zealand born singer, is a perfect manifestation of this gift. It’s soul in its very essence, fuelled by yesterday’s pain and the sounds of tomorrow.

Raised on a diet of funk, soul, blues and rock, Noah Slee has clearly taken a page from the great Afro-American songbook. But rather than riding waves of retro, his is an urge to explore uncharted territory. After spending some time in Australia, working with local beat champs such as Yahtzel and LDRU, Noah has found a new home amidst the thriving post-everything scene of Berlin.

Via SoundCloud he connected with Kreuzberg production team Kitschkrieg and they quickly bonded over a shared love for timeless songwriting and future-minded beats. Ever since, they’ve been working on Noah Slee’s debut release which is set to drop later this year. Complete with remixes from Berlin-based producers Ben Esser (Crispy Crust Records) and NGHT DRPS (Through My Speakers), “Can’t Let Go” is a first taste of what to expect: the story of a much-travelled man and natural born music maker, constantly looking for that bittersweet spot where sounds collide and collapse to reveal pure beauty.
