After spending way too many weekends in dark London clubs he relocated to Auckland where he purchased decks to bring the sounds of old school jungle and hardcore to his living room. While finding it difficult to keep his vinyl buying habit under control he found his way to Base HQ and began playing Dubstep and Jungle to a late night audience.

In 2011 he continues to play tunes which stay true to the ‘Original dancefloor vibe’ right now this is mostly UK Garage and Funky but old school sounds of Drum n bass and Jungle are always represented along with more than an occasional dose of Dancehall, Dub, Hip Hop and even early House and Electro. – Strictly Roots n Future!

DJ Koncept:

With nearly two decades of experience under his belt, DJ Koncept has secured his place amongst the finest turntablists from the UK and Ireland.

His most notable successes consist of DJ battles such as being a runner-up in the European Gong Battle, UK DMC Vice Champion and reaching multiple UK DMC Finals, most recently winning the UK DMC Supremacy title in 2018.

Now currently residing in Auckland, New Zealand, Koncept has added a few more accolades to his resumè such as releasing his debut single “Belfast to Auckland” (out on ill records) and his debut EP ‘Ghosts’, which features the legend Kool Keith (out on Vinyl Combat) both vinyl releases. Koncept and his brother Adam (aka Albert Wesker) have also started a brand new Drum’n’Bass collaborative project (BLACK BROTHERS) and founded their own label (Vinyl Combat). Black Brothers have already performed at the well known local event ‘Liquid Lowdown’ and made a track with the legendary A-Sides. Koncept also has nearly finished a brand new Drum n Bass EP which will be dropping soon on Vinyl Combat. Also tune in to Base FM every Friday night for ‘Roots and Future’ with Original Vibe and DJ Koncept. Mostly Jungle and DnB focused but expect hip hop and grime from time to time.
