Waxstar Touring proudly presents Dillastrate LIVE at Cassette 9!
Christchurch natives and musician mates Tim Driver and Henare ‘H’ Kaa of Dillastrate and making their way up from the dirty south to bring their high energy live show to Auckland on June 4th.
A neo-pop soul group the duo mingles with current soul, hip-hop, jazz and electronic sounds that seems to leave audiences open-mouthed and itching for more. The boys are driven by a deep love for performing live, having toured New Zealand extensively hitting a number of staple New Zealand music festival stages, including Northern Bass, Rhythm & Vines and Electric Avenue.
Dillastrate will be bringing their genre-bending a high-energy stylistic set to Cassette Nine alongside kiwi music legend Laughton Kora. Aside from Laughton’s collaboration with his brothers under their family name KORA, he has been a huge part of the music community with solo projects and forming bands such as L.A.B., Soul Charge, Heavy Metal Ninjas, Kinetic, and collaborating with Fly My Pretties, Ria Hall, Tiki Taane, Team Dynamite. Laughton is true force in Kiwi music and when teamed with Dillastrate this is one electrifying collaboration you do not want to miss!
Joining the bill is Jimi Kara & The Buzz who enthralled audiences around New Zealand last year when they played a tribute to Aaron Tokona and Ahoribuzz. Jimi will bust out some sweet buzz jams and shred that guitar until his fingers bleed.
Producer/drummer Jason Peters who features on Base’s “Summer 2021: Turn it UP” compilation album under the alias “Pippin” be will kick off the evening’s entertainment with some delicious funked-up electro breakbeats.
