Featured Artist: PollyHill
Featured Track: Mentors

Just before PollyHill sets off for her summer festival run, the Tamaki Makaurau MC has delivered her most experimental work to date with ‘Mentors’.
Previous release ‘Spooky’ saw PollyHill explore her moody, mysterious side but ‘Mentors’ shows another side. An electronic beat inspired by the likes of Yaeji and Arca, Polly catches the unique beat with her sharp and witty wordplay.  A gritty dance floor-ready energy bleeds through the track, then switches up to smooth shimmering alt-RnB at the end, ‘Mentors’ packs a lyrical punch which shows why PollyHill has become so desired by festivals around the country.

‘When I first made the beat it wasn’t for me. I made that muddy acid bass sound that’s at the heart of the track, and I was like – who would sound stunning on this cos it’s not very PollyHill? But then I was like, fuck it, I birthed it, it must be PollyHill. It made me wanna experiment with flow and go off a little. I also liked the idea of having a track that people don’t necessarily have to listen to so closely.’
