Pacific Heights ‘405’ (feat. CHAII and Kings)

This week’s Local Eyes video is the latest track from Pacific Heights – ‘405’.

Pacific Heights (Devin Abrams) recently unveiled ‘The Weight Of It’, featuring UK electronic veteran Steve Spacek, his first solo release since the critically acclaimed 2018 album A LOST LIGHT. Today, the New Zealand producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist follows it up with ‘405’ which features two of Aotearoa’s brightest talents, CHAII and Kings. Seizing the moment on ‘405’, emcee CHAII infuses the track with icy intent and seething cool, whilst Kings delivers a soaring and triumphant West Coast-inspired hook. Although this is in some ways new terrain for Abrams, the warm and deep atmospherics of the track harks back to some of his classic work as Pacific Heights. ‘405’ is pop music from the future and a blissful antidote to these strange times. The track is accompanied by an artistic visual directed by Oscar Keys which, alongside CHAII and Kings, features acclaimed dancer and choreographer Kayla Paige.
