This weeks’ Local Eyes is Cymbol aka Auckland’s Shivnesh Sumer with new track “Best Friends”
The video is directed by Andrew R. Blackman and tells the story of an androgynous lounge singer seduces an audience of strangers lamenting unrequited love, late one night in a dark club. I like to toy with icons, in this case, icons of nightlife. Androgynous figures, cool weirdos, lonely creeps, and other strange creatures of the night.
The video features (in order of appearance): Cymbol, Vanessa La Joeli Thacker, Rose Van Wylich, Geoff Hart, Beau-James Morgan, Grace Goulter, Joel Ringlaub.
