Detroit hip-hop producer and DJ House Shoes returns to Aotearoa for two Shows. Firstly for a DJ set at Ponsonby Social club on Thursday 8th March and then at Ante Social on Friday 9th March where there will be a Street Corner Music session with a Q & A with the legend himself.
House Shoes is an accomplished DJ who has served as a producer on albums by Phat Kat, Proof, Elzhi, Pumpkinhead, Marv Won, J Dilla, Danny Brown, and Quelle Chris among others. He’s a two-time Detroit Music Awards winner for Outstanding Hip-Hop DJ (in 2005 and 2006).
Street Corner Music was founded by House Shoes in 2013. Named after one of the first record stores he worked in, SCM provides a documentation for his personal taste. A champion for many long before they were known to the masses, ‘Shoes aims to expose some of the lesser known artists too much wider bases with the releases on the label.
