Hiatus Kaiyote: Tawk Takeout (Remix album)
Written by Admin on November 27, 2012
Hiatus Kaiyote are future soul. Based in Melbourne, the four-piece fuses neo-soul, hip-hop and electronic beats along with flavours of Latin, jazz and opera, all presented with a cinematic sheen. Equal parts The Roots and Little Dragon yet so much more, Hiatus Kaiyote seamlessly blend their influences (too many to list here) and are held together by the velvety vocals of Nai Palm, a natural performer who has talent and ability well beyond her twenty-three years.
After an incredible year that has had fans, journalists, radio types and DJs falling over themselves to support their debut, self-produced album Tawk Tomahawk, Hiatus Kaiyote have recently teamed up with Wax Poetics and released “Tawk Takeout”, a collection of remixes from Mark de Clive-Lowe, Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra creative partners), Anthony Valadez, Amin Payne and more.
