Volume Museum Sessions: Estère ‘Reptilian Journey’
Performed in the Auckland Museum’s Castle Gallery, surrounded by a collection of rare and unusual musical instruments. It’s a fitting setting for a song with lyrics focused on longevity and survival – the Castle Gallery is home to centuries-old instruments from around the world.
Estère’s smoky smooth vocals are interwoven with rhythmic percussion, and Victoria Kelly (vocals, Rhodes piano), Ashley Brown (cello) and Sandy Mill (vocals, percussion) give the performance a beautiful richness.
Volume: Making Music in Aotearoa, a landmark homegrown exhibition on New Zealand music at Auckland War Memorial Museum.
