Turn It Up is a feature on Base FM where we showcase a new track from Aotearoa every week. Tune in weekdays at 10am and 4pm to hear this week’s top local pick. Proudly supported by NZ On Air Music.
In 2015 we chose stand alone tracks from soundcloud and bandcamp as well as album releases, all from a mix of both established artists and newcomers to the local scene. Looking at the list, a lot of great new talent emerged this year and we’re excited to see what they do in 2016. Keep an eye out to see which 2015’s artists pop up again in 2016’s Turn It Up feature.
We’ve had the pleasure of featuring a wide range of sounds and genres, from fire rap tunes to smooth ballads, instrumental beats and uplifting reggae vibes, international collaborations and tracks with surprising guest vocals.
