Sundays 2pm - 4pm with Kina and SomeKindaHolic
Tune in, turn it up and relax with some chill homegrown and abroad instrumental beats, chops & samples with your hosts Kina & SomeKindaHolic. "Lifting The Beats Since Ages Ago."
Kina : Born in Auckland and raised between Otahuhu and NZ's Country Music Capital (Gore), Kina developed an eclectic appreciation for music. He cycled through the genres until he landed in beats and samples, which is now his signature set all thanks to the legendary Beat-God James Dewitt Yancey (RIP).
Instrumentals and beats allow your mind to breathe. Singers and MCs tell you how to feel and what to think about when you're listening to a song, but a good beat speaks for itself and there's no wrong way to interpret it. You can choose your own thoughts and feelings to go with it - even if those change every time you hear it. This freedom has captivated Kina and is a passion he wants to share.
Family, music and friends is the closest thing to his heart and he believes that a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet. He prefers to direct his energy into supporting others rather than drawing attention to himself, and his dream is simple - he just wants to play music he loves that will inspire others.
SomeKindaHolic : Half Maori, Half Samoan. Born and raised in the States, she’s eclectic and loves music from a wide range of genres. The name SomeKindaHolic is based on her highly addictive personality so whatever she’s doing right now, she’s doing it like there’s nothing else in the world to do!
This husband and wife duo first met in 1997 and have been together ever since. They’re all about positive vibes, enjoying life and sharing love and laughter – so tune in and get some!
