Where were you in 2004?

A select few vinyl junkies were sorting through their crates and sharing their sound with the greater Grey Lynn community, via a new little venture called Base FM.Under the guidance of Manuel Bundy, and a little help from Sophie Newsworthy, these selectors helped establish the sound that we now all recognise. Bringing a few of these Base "OGs" together again for another night @ Khuja, expect some classic tunes that have defined the base sound, alongside the fresh new cuts you'd expect to hear from the station that rules the nation.

The LOCAL has been a musical platform, a breeding ground for networks and a social hub for friends. Resident LOCAL mistress R.I.A created it with a vision to bring the people of the neighbourhood together.. And that she did.
