Over the last 3 years Optimus Gryme (aka Charlie B) has evolved into one of Aotearoa's leading Dubstep pioneers.
In 2007 he released NZ's first solo Dubstep EP as well as releasing Aotearoa's first Dubstep 12inch on his own imprint 'Optimus Gryme Recordings'. Gryme has since released his debut album entitled 'Eclipse', which he has spent two years creating. The album showcases 11 original works and features remixes and collaborations with Billy Fluid, Truth, Organikismness & Fiona Soe Paing.
Optimus Gryme Recordings' second 12inch record was released in November 09, and features 2 tunes from 'Truth' including their remix of the Optimus Gryme classic 'Immortal'.
As well as performing all over NZ on a regular basis, Gryme also toured Oz for the first time in Dec 09, with one of New Zealand's leading musician's Tiki Taane.
On top of producing music, running a record label and constant touring, Gryme has also re-launched his clothing label 'Noise Zealand Apparel', which focuses on bringing dope streetwear to the underground street market. www.noisezealand.co.nz
This Friday Gryme will smash Auckland's Zen for the first time since September '09 and Timmy_B!'s set-to-get the low-down on DIGIDUBS this Thursday the 29th April (6-8pm).
